I have been a high school English teacher for the past 17 years. Students are my favorite audiences. Each new unit begins with a story to peak their interest. Beyond the classroom, I am the co-creator of the Mayes County Storytellers. We performed our first Tellabration last November are planning our next one. My mother, sisters and I will be opening a readery in August and we plan to have storytelling events there. The readery will include two books we have published together using our pen name--Rumor Perkins.
